Richard H. Newhouse, Ph.D.
Dr. Newhouse serves as our Laboratory Director. He received his early training in the West Virginia State Health Laboratory, which directed a career path to a BS in Biology. While completing his military service as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy, certification was earned as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Jacksonville Naval Hospital. After returning stateside, he earned a position as Chief Electron Microscopist NAMRI in Bethesda, MD. He possesses extensive experience in tissue culture techniques, (both isotopic and non-isotopic) His experience with medical products companies included viral isolation with various NCI contracts, immunoassay development (autoimmune, STD, HIV, Hepatitis, TORCH, Herpes viruses and estrogen/progesterone markers. As VP of Laboratory Services for nearly 10 years at one company, he assumed the duties of clinical testing and principal investigator for human subject clinical trials. Dr. Newhouse received his graduate degree in Clinical Pathology (PhD) through the Medical School, UMAB, in Baltimore, Maryland.
